Softball Recap: Everglades City Comes Up Short

Everglades City lost against Mason Classical Academy back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Gators fell just short of the Paladins by a score of 12-10. That's two games in a row now that the Gators have lost by exactly two runs.

Ava Ramos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Josey Ryder, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Everglades City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Mason Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everglades City will host Seacrest Country Day at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mason Classical Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Babcock at 3:00 p.m.
