Baseball Recap: Goddard Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Goddard took on Andover Central on Tuesday. The Lions came up short against the Jaguars, falling 13-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Goddard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eastyn Vieyra, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Lincoln Jensen was another, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Goddard dropped their record down to 5-14 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Andover Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Goddard is set to square off against their familiar foe Andover at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Andover Central will face off against rival Eisenhower on Friday.
