Washburn took a 44-point loss the last time they faced off against North Greene, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Pirates made off with a 47-46 victory over the Huskies.

Washburn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Kincaid led the charge by going 7-for-10 to rack up 16 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matthew Harville, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Washburn's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for North Greene, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
