Basketball Recap: Faith Lutheran Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

The third road game was the charm for Faith Lutheran, as they earned their first road win of the season. Everything went their way against the Arbor View Aggies on Monday as the Faith Lutheran Crusaders made off with a 56-35 win. That 21 point margin sets a new team best for the Crusaders this season.

Leading Faith Lutheran to victory were Emma Herpin and Caylyn Young. Herpin went 7 for 13 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight steals and five boards, while Young posted 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Herpin has scored at least a third of Faith Lutheran's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shannen Drinkard, who had six points.

Arbor View's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyra Leak, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Faith Lutheran's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Arbor View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Faith Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-41 win against Liberty on the 11th. As for Arbor View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 77-52 loss against Desert Pines on the 11th.
