Volleyball Recap: Aldine Mustangs vs. Spring Lions
Aldine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spring Lions. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 25-18 in the first set.
Aldine started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-14, 25-11, 25-14.
Ruby Gonzalez and Porsha Daniels certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Gonzalez had ten digs, two kills, and two aces, while Daniels had five kills, three digs, and a block. That's the most aces Gonzalez has posted since back in September.
Spring was led to victory by Victoria Salas and Kasey Jones. Salas had five digs and two aces, while Jones had seven digs.
Aldine's defeat dropped their record down to 8-35. As for Spring, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-23 record this season.
Aldine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Spring has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against College Park on the 4th.
