Soccer Game Preview: Myrtle Beach vs. Socastee

The Myrtle Beach Seahawks will head out on the road to square off against the Socastee Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Myrtle Beach is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Conway on Friday as Myrtle Beach made off with a 4-1 win. Juan Rivera was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Socastee had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Chiefs get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. That's two games straight that Socastee have won by just one goal.

Socastee's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Myrtle Beach, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Myrtle Beach couldn't quite get it done against Socastee when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Myrtle Beach avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
