It was a good run, but Captain Shreve unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lafayette Lions. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Gators came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Lions are ranked 26th).

Captain Shreve's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4-4. As for Lafayette, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3-4.

Captain Shreve didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 loss against Teurlings Catholic on the 4th. As for Lafayette, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against St. Amant on the 4th.
