Softball Recap: Hughesville Comes Up Short

If Hughesville was feeling good fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Warrior Run on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell just short of the Loyalsock Township Lancers by a score of 10-9 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Adelyn Knight made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Addison Henninger was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Hughesville's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Loyalsock Township, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

While Hughesville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
