Baseball Recap: Swanton Bulldogs vs. Delta Panthers
Swanton was handed a two-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Delta on Friday. Everything went the Swanton Bulldogs' way against the Delta Panthers as the Swanton Bulldogs made off with an 8-1 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Swanton also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.
Adam Lemon was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Lemon was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Luke Marlow was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Marlow is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Drake Harris, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Swanton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Delta, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Swanton will head out on the road to square off against North Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Delta, they will take on Archbold at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
