Softball Game Preview: Carteret Ramblers vs. Linden Tigers

The Carteret Ramblers will head out to take on the Linden Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Carteret is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Carteret came up short against Wardlaw Hartridge and fell 6-3. The Ramblers have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Jayanalis Pagan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, Carteret saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniela Portillo, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Jesse Sendatch also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Linden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-0 to Kent Place.

Carteret's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Linden, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1.
