League recap: Lunenburg Central scores huge upset over Buckingham

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lunenburg Central, who took down 48th ranked Buckingham, 27-14.

The Chargers moved up to 88 from 135 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A Eastern. Lunenburg Central was able to make the jump by besting the Knights 27-14.

West Point's dynamic duo of Robert "Mikey" Anerton and Edgar "L.A." Allen proved tough for King & Queen Central to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Anerton threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns and Allen had 142 yards receiving. Seth Hatcher helped West Point's passing attack out by catching three balls for 51 yards.

Logan Carpenter was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 265 yards on 22 carries as Madison County beat the Royal Tigers. Maurice Gentry also contributed to the rushing game with 124 yards on the ground.

Chance Mills made the biggest impact on defense this week as Middlesex fell to Surry County. The 6-foot-2 defensive end recorded one fumble.

West Point's Anerton and Hatcher have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Anerton has thrown for 1728 yards this season, while Hatcher, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 36 catches for 777 yards. Nottoway's Tre Burtt leads the league in rushing yards with 1159.

A big matchup in A Eastern this week will be when the Mountaineers take on Strasburg. Madison County is in 19th place, while the Rams are in second place.

Strasburg extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Manassas Park, 35-34. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
