Baseball Recap: Red Bluff Takes a Loss

Red Bluff and Chico squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Red Bluff had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-3. The Spartans have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Mason Lyford and Kelan Elliott stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lyford went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Elliott went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Red Bluff's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Chico, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 27-1.

Coincidentally, Red Bluff and Chico will both be playing Pleasant Valley the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
