Preview: Burns vs. Newcastle
Newcastle have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Burns at 6:00 PM. Newcastle come in off of five low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the team is obviously eager to reverse.
Things haven't been easy for Newcastle, and their matchup last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They took a serious blow against Hot Springs County last Friday, falling 0-66. The state rankings had actually given Newcastle a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Meanwhile, Burns took an ego-bruising loss against Glenrock two weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back last Friday. Burns got past Pine Bluffs with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 26-20. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Burns as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Newcastle took their contest against Burns the last time the two teams met by a conclusive 44-16 score. Will Newcastle repeat their success, or does Burns have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
