Football Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Crusaders vs. Entrepreneur Panthers

The Cornerstone Christian Crusaders will square off against the Entrepreneur Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cornerstone Christian has eight straight wins, Entrepreneur has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Cornerstone Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging an 88-6 victory over United Christian Academy. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won six contests by 49 points or more so far this season.

Cornerstone Christian can attribute much of their success to Dylan Kelly, who rushed for 157 yards and three TDs on only seven carries, and Matthew Huffman, who gained 263 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Kelly racked up 226 passing yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Mason Sanchez was another key player, picking up 72 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cornerstone Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 393 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 244 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Cornerstone Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. David Miller led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by himself. Kelly is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 125 every time he's taken the field this season. Cornerstone Christian received some extra help from Isaac Nuezca, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Entrepreneur's offense. They were outmatched by Calvary Baptist and fell 50-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Cougars are ranked 26th).

Entrepreneur's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Cornerstone Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.
