Soccer Game Preview: Roane County vs. Oneida

The Roane County Yellowjackets will take on the Oneida Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Oneida will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Roane County extended their winning streak to 11 on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets never let Harriman get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Oneida came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Royals 5-2. It was an even better day for Levi James as he scored three goals for his team.

Roane County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six contests. As for Oneida, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.

Roane County was able to grind out a solid win over Oneida in their previous meeting back in April, winning 2-0. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
