Recap: Winter Haven Blue Devils vs. Kathleen Red Devils

Make it seven blowout wins for the Winter Haven Blue Devils this season. They put the hurt on Kathleen with a sharp 66-43 win on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but Winter Haven sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Leading Winter Haven to victory were Jaeden Williams and Serenity Hardy. Williams scored 16 points along with nine steals and six rebounds, while Hardy scored 25 points along with seven steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hardy has scored at least a third of Winter Haven's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Victoria Hall, who scored no points along with eight blocks and five rebounds.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dariasia Pitts, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Pitts hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Amaya Shaw was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Winter Haven pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Kathleen, their loss dropped their record down to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winter Haven will take on Palm Bay at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Palm Bay has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Kathleen, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tenoroc at 7:00 p.m. Tenoroc will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 631st, while Kathleen is ranked 89th).
