Baseball Game Preview: Seaholm Maples vs. Kettering Captains

For the second straight game, Seaholm will face off against Kettering. The Maples will be playing at home against the Captains at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Seaholm beat Kettering 5-1.

Patrick Hughes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Seaholm's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 2-1 (and 10-14-3 when he doesn't). Hughes was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam McDonald, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted over his last 15 games.
