Basketball Recap: Urbana Comes Up Short

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Urbana was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They were beaten by the Manchester Valley Mavericks 59-12. The contest marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Manchester Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Penczek led the charge by putting up 14 points. Another player making a difference was Gaby Mccarthy, who posted 12 points.

Urbana's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Manchester Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Urbana won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oakdale at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manchester Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
