Basketball Recap: Cross Trojans vs. Bethune-Bowman Mohawks
Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 54-26 defeat at the hands of the Bethune-Bowman Mohawks. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mohawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2020.
Cross lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lauren Middleton, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Middleton has posted since back in January of 2024.
Bethune-Bowman found their leader in sophomore Kennedi Graves, who earned 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makiyah Johnson, who put up 11 points.
Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bethune-Bowman, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-9 record this season.
Cross didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 44-32 win against Baptist Hill on the 17th. As for Bethune-Bowman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-9 victory against Branchville on the 17th.
