American Falls gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 47-0 victory over the Soda Springs Cardinals. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Beavers just coasted through the last quarter.
Zakary Grigg had a dynamite game, throwing for 184 yards and four touchdowns, while also punching in a pair of TDs on the ground. Those 184 passing yards gave him a new career-high. American Falls' leading receiver Gavin Adamson was Grigg's top target yet again, picking up 57 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 50 yards.
American Falls didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sawyer Bolgen and Ty Smith. Smith is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 12 games he's played dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Falls will venture away from home to face off against Aberdeen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Soda Springs, they will head out to challenge Ririe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
