It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Fort Lauderdale ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Monarch Knights 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Flying L's have posted since March 20, 2024.

Kylie Keenan spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tannar Keenan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Fort Lauderdale now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Monarch, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
