Basketball Game Preview: Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes vs. Coupeville Wolves

The Mount Vernon Christian Hurricanes will venture away from home to square off against the Coupeville Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Vernon Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Coupeville likes a good challenge.

Mount Vernon Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Northwest Yeshiva 78-42 on Saturday. The Hurricanes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Coupeville entered their tilt with Orcas Island on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed a 52-47 victory over the Vikings.

Mount Vernon Christian is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Coupeville, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Mount Vernon Christian strolled past Coupeville in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 69-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mount Vernon Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
