Basketball Recap: Wyldewood Christian Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wyldewood Christian can now relate to. They were dealt a 59-25 defeat at the hands of the Rock County Christian Eagles on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-18 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rock County Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gideon Ukwuorji, who shot 61% from the field to rack up 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks. The matchup was Ukwuorji's fifth in a row with at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Tony Thompson, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 16 boards.

Wyldewood Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Rock County Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-4 record this season.

Wyldewood Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rock County Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-58 victory against Badger State Baptist on the 1st.
