Softball Preview: New Bloomfield Wildcats vs. St. Elizabeth Hornets        
        
		
             The New Bloomfield Wildcats will face off against the St. Elizabeth Hornets at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. St. Elizabeth took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on New Bloomfield, who comes in off a win.
 On Thursday, New Bloomfield earned  a  7-3 victory over Battle. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Wildcats.
 The team  relied heavily on  Myah Briggs, who  went 1-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Avarie Edwards, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 St. Elizabeth kicked off their season on the road  on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took  an  8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fatima. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Comets: they've now lost seven in a row.
 The  win  got New Bloomfield back to even at 2-2. As for St. Elizabeth, their defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 0-1.
 New Bloomfield skirted past St. Elizabeth  3-2 when the teams last played  back in September of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Bloomfield since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
