Tyrie Cleveland — one of the nation's top wide receivers — committed to Houston on Thursday, making the announcement on Twitter.

Cleveland picked Houston over a slew of other offers, including Alabama, Baylor, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver helped lead Westfield (Houston) to a 10-2 season by making 46 catches for 982 yards and 14 touchdowns.

As a junior, he topped the 1,000-yard mark and had 13 receiving touchdowns.

247Sports ranks Cleveland as the nation's No. 32 recruit in its Top 247 for the Class of 2016.

Incredibly, Cleveland is not even the top-ranked commitment in Houston's 2016 class.

Cleveland's high school teammate, defensive tackle Ed Oliver, is the No. 8 recruit in the 247Sports rankings and has also committed to Houston.

The strength of the recruiting class is a testament to how effective Tom Herman has been not only in winning games, but also in persuading recruits.
