Recap: Rampart Rams vs. Pueblo South Colts
The Rampart Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Pueblo South on the road to the tune of 72-16. With that victory, Rampart brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.
It was another big night for Emily Huxtable, who scored 19 points along with five assists and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Arabelle Madril, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Pueblo South's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kyla Cruz, who scored eight points along with five rebounds, and Gracie Gonzales who scored six points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Gonzales posted two or more blocks.
Rampart is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. As for Pueblo South, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rampart will take on Arapahoe at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arapahoe will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Pueblo South, they will play host again and welcome Pueblo East, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Pueblo East focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
