Softball Recap: Seneca Indians vs. Monett Cubs

Seneca might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Monett who claimed the real prize. The Seneca Indians fell 5-1 to the Monett Cubs. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kahli Fields made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Seneca didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with seven strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in October of 2023.

Seneca's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Monett, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.

Seneca will be playing in front of their home fans against Joplin at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Joplin is coming into the game with three straight wins on the road, so Seneca will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Monett, they will face off against Aurora at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
