Football Game Preview: James Monroe Yellow Jackets vs. Caroline Cavaliers + How To Watch

The James Monroe Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to challenge the Caroline Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (James Monroe 12.5, Caroline 10.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

James Monroe gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They snuck past Eastern View with a 19-13 win.

Meanwhile, Caroline put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Chancellor with a sharp 34-14 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cavaliers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Chargers are ranked 265th).

James Monroe better keep an eye on Blake Morris. He was instrumental in Caroline's win, throwing for 132 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 77 yards and one score on only nine carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Caroline proved: they limited Chancellor to a paltry 2.1 yards per carry. The Cavaliers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.5.

James Monroe's record is now 3-1. As for Caroline, their record now sits at 4-0.

James Monroe was dealt a bruising 42-14 defeat at the hands of Caroline when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Thankfully for the Yellow Jackets, Vladimir Joacin Jr. (who rushed for 151 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
