Recap: Vista Ridge Rangers vs. Manor Mustangs
The Vista Ridge Rangers never got on the board in their last matchup, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against the Manor Mustangs on Friday. Everything went their way against the Mustangs as they made off with a 36-16 win. Given Vista Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Manor is ranked 319th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grant Anderson had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 139 yards and four touchdowns, and also threw for 126 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Manor lost, one person who can't be blamed is Titus Petteway. Despite the final result, he rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Vista Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Manor, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Vista Ridge will be playing at home against Vandegrift at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vandegrift knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Vista Ridge likes a good challenge. As for Manor, they will head out on the road to face off against Round Rock Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
