Basketball Game Preview: Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats vs. Vincennes Rivet Patriots

Evansville Mater Dei and Vincennes Rivet are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats will take on the Vincennes Rivet Patriots at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Wednesday, Evansville Mater Dei made easy work of Evansville Harrison and carried off a 77-56 victory.

Meanwhile, Vincennes Rivet took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 61-26 win over Loogootee. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 25 points or more this season.

Evansville Mater Dei's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Vincennes Rivet, they are also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Evansville Mater Dei strolled past Vincennes Rivet in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 52-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evansville Mater Dei since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
