Baseball Game Preview: Oakwood Panthers vs. Mount Calm

The Oakwood Panthers will challenge Mount Calm at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Oakwood has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Oakwood took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against LaPoynor, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Oakwood came out on top against LaPoynor on Tuesday by a score of 6-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since March 27, 2024.

Meanwhile, Mount Calm had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Abbott on Tuesday, falling 14-2. Mount Calm hasn't had much luck with Abbott recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Oakwood now has a winning record of 4-3-2. As for Mount Calm, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
