Basketball Recap: Groves Comes Up Short

Groves played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Rochester Falcons, falling 50-18. The contest marked Groves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Groves had strong showings from Harlem Simpson, who posted eight points along with eight blocks and four steals, and Jacey Roy, who had seven points. That was a full 44.4% of Groves' points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Groves dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Rochester, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Groves Falcons duke it out with the Royal Oak Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. As for Rochester, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 38-36 win against Avondale on the 4th.
