Baseball Game Preview: Aurora Greenmen vs. Copley Indians

For the second straight game, Aurora will face off against Copley. The Greenmen will head out on the road to face off against the Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aurora has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Aurora managed to slip by Copley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Greenmen lost 11-3 to the Indians on Monday. The Greenmen just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

For Copley's part, Jack Yurechko and Evan Chmielewski were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Yurechko struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Chmielewski pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Yurechko has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Yurechko got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, while Chmielewski went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double was Chmielewski's first of the season.

In other batting news, Hudson Able was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Copley is undefeated when Able posts two or more runs, but 4-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Petry, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Copley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aurora only managed five hits.

Copley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Aurora, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
