Vasquez is a perfect 3-0 against Desert since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Scorpions at 3:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Vasquez came up short against California City on Wednesday, falling 5-2. The loss put an end to Vasquez's undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Desert unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They lost 7-0 to Academy of Careers & Exploration on Wednesday. Desert haven't had much luck with Academy of Careers & Exploration recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Having lost for the first time this season, Vasquez fell to 2-1. As for Desert, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Vasquez's way against Desert when the teams last played back in December of 2017, as Vasquez made off with a 7-3 win. In that match, the Mustangs amassed a halftime lead of 7-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
