Football Recap: Leake Academy Skates Past Central Hinds Academy with Ease

Leake Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed past the Central Hinds Academy Cougars to the tune of 44-0. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won seven games by 27 points or more so far this season.

Leake Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Garrett Adcock led the charge by rushing for 149 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Another passer making a difference was George Wilcox, who threw for 160 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Leake Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Leake Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ryals Wilkerson and Joshua Gray.

Leake Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Central Hinds Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Leake Academy nor Central Hinds Academy have any future games scheduled.
