Basketball Recap: Lily Welsh Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ambassador Christian Academy

A well-balanced attack led King's Christian over Ambassador Christian Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. The King's Christian Knights enjoyed a cozy 36-20 win over Ambassador Christian Academy. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 35-14 last Thursday.

King's Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Welsh out in front who went 5 for 9 to rack up 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. The dominant performance gave Welsh a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Angelina Alicea, who posted five points along with eight boards and seven steals.

King's Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.0 points over those games. As for Ambassador Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, King's Christian will face off against Gloucester County Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Gloucester County Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something King's Christian surely won't give up without a fight. Ambassador Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
