Maplesville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Simon out in front who posted nine points. Simon is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Mccary, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards.
Meanwhile, Dallas County posted their closest win since December 12, 2023 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-63 victory over Thorsby. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.
Maplesville better keep an eye on Joshua Davis III. He was instrumental in Dallas County's win, going 9 of 21 en route to 30 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Davis III has scored at least a third of Dallas County's points. Myles Nix was another key player, putting up 15 points.
Maplesville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Dallas County, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Maplesville has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Dallas County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Maplesville couldn't quite finish off Dallas County in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 66-63. Can Maplesville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
