Baseball Recap: Hartselle Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Hartselle won against Buckhorn last Saturday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. Hartselle's pitchers stepped up to hand the Prattville Lions a 5-0 shutout. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Hartselle's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Prattville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Hartselle Tigers challenge Smiths Station Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prattville, they will head out to challenge Vestavia Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Vestavia Hills' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Prattville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
