Basketball Recap: Pinnacle Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Pinnacle Classical Academy extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the Veritas Christian Academy Warriors. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Pinnacle Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Braylon Gentry, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 13 points. Gentry is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wheeler Stuart, who posted eight points.

As for Veritas Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since November 19, 2024.

Veritas Christian Academy was led to victory by Lee Burgess and Owen Foote. Burgess shot 55% from the field on his way to 19 points and four steals, while Foote earned 16 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Bishop, who put up six points and 11 rebounds.

Looking ahead, Pinnacle Classical Academy will be playing at home against Haywood Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they will head out to face off against Carolina Day at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
