Recap: Cascade Cadets vs. Northview Knights

The Cascade Cadets came into Saturday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 61-56 victory over Northview on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Cascade's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Toby Savini, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Trebley, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Despite the loss, Northview saw an underclassman step up: Brayden Goff scored 29 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goff has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Karson Fosdick, who scored 11 points.

The victory got Cascade back to even at 9-9. As for Northview, they dropped their record down to 8-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cascade will square off against Greencastle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Greencastle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. As for Northview, they will head out on the road to square off against Edgewood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Northview's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
