Volleyball Game Preview: Richland Center Hornets vs. River Valley Blackhawks + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the Richland Center Hornets and the River Valley Blackhawks will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Richland Center will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Platteville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hornets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Hillmen 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (95-94) Richland Center actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 11-25, 25-21, 25-19, 18-25, 15-5.

River Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 27-22, 27-25, 25-16.

River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Richland Center, their win bumped their record up to 22-13.

Richland Center came out on top in a nail-biter against River Valley in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Blackhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
