Baseball Recap: Brookwood Has No Trouble Against Pinson Valley

On Friday, everything went the Brookwood Panthers's way against the Pinson Valley Indians as the Brookwood Panthers made off with an 8-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Davis Torri tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. He has become a key player for Brookwood: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 2-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Brookwood got a big performance out of Markeil Williams, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Brookwood is 3-1 when Williams posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Jordan Riley also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Brookwood's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Pinson Valley, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Brookwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-5 loss against Gulf Shores on the 10th. As for Pinson Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-0 victory against Midfield on the 10th.
