League recap: Cherokee tops Seneca to extend winning streak

Cherokee added to the longest winning streak in West Jersey - American this week by beating Seneca, 34-14. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.

Williamstown took down Washington Township 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Dom Bounasissi was the best wideout in the league this week as Lenape fell to Shawnee. Bounasissi tallied 2 receptions for 35 yards. Ben Hunt helped Lenape's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 10 yards.

Eastern's Tom Flacco and Keshawn Segers have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Flacco has thrown for 2,714 yards this season, while Segers has 59 catches for 1,073 yards. Cherokee's Matthew Stickney leads the league in rushing yards with 698.

The most important game in West Jersey - American this week will be the match up between Pj Mehigan's team and the Vikings. The Chiefs enters the contest ranked seventh in the state, while Eastern ranks 12th.

The league will see a high scoring game when Cherokee and Dan Spittal's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Chiefs comes in having scored 408 this season, while the Vikings have scored 400. Cherokee scored 34 points last week as it beat the Golden Eagles.

The Braves made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,929 from 2,279. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 50-0 victory over the Minutemen last week.
