Softball Recap: Herron Has No Trouble Against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial

Herron made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Achaeans put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 19-12 victory on Thursday. This was payback for the Achaeans, who suffered an 18-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jordyn Ault made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and ten unearned) runs off 11 hits. Ault was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kayla Page was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Cotham, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

The win got Herron back to even at 1-1. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Herron will take on Indianapolis Washington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they will head out to square off against Beech Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
