            Baseball Recap: Pikeville Panthers vs. Johnson Central Golden Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Pikeville fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Johnson Central  on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of  3-2. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
  Grant Tomlinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 4-for-4 with one  run and one  double.
Pikeville's loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Johnson Central, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record  this season.
 Pikeville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Johnson Central, they will venture away from home to  face off against Prestonsburg  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Blackcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.53  runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
