Recap: River Mill Jaguars vs. Triangle Math & Science Tigers
The River Mill Jaguars were the 43-40 winner over the Triangle Math & Science Tigers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. River Mill took a hard 50-34 fall against Triangle Math & Science on Tuesday. River Mill has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
River Mill's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Brown, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Jackson Osborne, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Ayman Idrissi was a one-man wrecking crew for Triangle Math & Science as he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Ahmed Omer was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
River Mill now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Triangle Math & Science, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Mill won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Williams at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. River Mill is coming into the game with three straight losses on the road, meaning Williams will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Triangle Math & Science, they will square off against Chatham Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chatham Charter will be up against Triangle Math & Science's rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.8 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing.
