Volleyball Recap: Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs vs. Greenville Spartans
Cobleskill-Richmondville was the 3-0 winner over Greenville when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenville Spartans on Thursday.
While Cobleskill-Richmondville ultimately came up short, they really made Greenville work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 14-25, 26-24, 25-23.
Cobleskill-Richmondville's offense was headlined by Markus Trappenburg and Kole Wayman, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Landon Yatrakis and his 23 assists. Wayman was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.
Cobleskill-Richmondville now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Greenville, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-6.
Cobleskill-Richmondville will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hudson at 6:00 p.m. on February 25th. Greenville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
