The Springfield Senators will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Springfield Southeast Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Wednesday, Springfield was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Rochester.
Meanwhile, Springfield Southeast's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Decatur Eisenhower 56-51.
Springfield dropped their record down to 3-15 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Springfield Southeast, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Springfield came up short against Springfield Southeast when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 67-59. Can Springfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
