Softball Game Preview: Evergreen Park Mustangs vs. Providence Catholic Celtics

The Evergreen Park Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Providence Catholic Celtics at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Providence Catholic will be up against a hot Evergreen Park team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Mustangs were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Tinley Park on Thursday. 11 seems to be a good number for the Mustangs as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Providence Catholic got the win against St. Laurence on Thursday by a conclusive 9-2.

Evergreen Park's victory bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Providence Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 23-4.

Evergreen Park might still be hurting after the 21-11 loss they got from Providence Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
