Covenant Christian hadn't done well against Western Michigan Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Chargers walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Warriors. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Chargers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jeremy Rutgers was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Ryan Kuiper was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Covenant Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Western Michigan Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Christian will head out to face off against Holland Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Western Michigan Christian, they will take on Ravenna at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
